Top Romantic Things to do in London for Valentine’s Day 2022
Romantic Things to Do in London
If you are looking for wonderful things to do in the month of love, you have to make sure you book in advance!
Whether you want to go somewhere special with a partner, treating yourself, or booking with friends you’ll want to check out this article for some special things to do in London this February!
Soak up the Culture
One of the best things to do in London, in my opinion, is to soak up the culture. Taking a loved one with you can make it even more special. Whether you love fashion, art, design, or something more quirky and interesting, you’re spoiled for choice.
For a fun way to spend the day together, I highly recommend visiting one of London’s many museums – my favourite is the V&A Museum who are hosting a special exhibition: Faberge in London – Romance to Revolution. This exhibition explores master goldsmith, Carl Fabergé – the man behind the internationally recognised firm symbolising Russian craftsmanship, luxury and elegance – and the Anglo-Russian relationship which saw the opening of a London branch in 1903.
For art fans, you’ve got Tate Britain in Millbank for a special collection of British art; Tate Modern in Bankside for contemporary and modern art housed within an incredible power station; and the Saatchi Gallery in Chelsea – for often unseen modern international and young artists.
If you prefer the “less ordinary” and want to go off the beaten path, then I can also recommend a few quirky museums you can visit including the Fan Museum in Greenwich (reopening on 16th February), the Cartoon Museum in Camden; or the Grant Museum of Zoology in Fitzrovia for the only remaining university zoological museum in London with 67,000 specimens to view.
Book an Elegant Dinner
Of course for many valentine’s day is about a romantic dinner so if that’s your thing, then London has more than its fair share of incredible restaurants. If you are a foodie, then you’ll want to make your booking and indulge in some fine dining and cocktails.
A few of my favourites for a romantic evening are J Sheekey in Covent Garden for scrumptious seafood; Daphne’s in South Kensington for beautiful Italian cuisine. If you want multiple choices in one location, then check out Sketch in Mayfair where you can enjoy for your choice of cocktails at The Glade or the Parlour, modern dishes at The Gallery & even three Michelin-starred dishes at Lecture Room & Library;
If you really want to experience cocktails then head to Swift in Soho which has two areas – upstairs for classic cocktails, or in the basement a whisky-lovers dream, offering over 300 whiskies to enjoy.
For an even more luxe experience, visit Lyaness in Southbank set within the iconic Sea Containers London, offering a “chef’s approach” to cocktails which are unique & experimental. You can even arrange a romantic afternoon tea which is matched with cocktails to create an unforgettable Valentine’s Day experience.
If you love to live the luxury lifestyle while sipping cocktails, then the Connaught Bar in Mayfair should be on your list this Valentine’s Day – unwind together sitting amongst the textured walls in platinum silver leaf and a cool grey bar set a stylish tone.
Take a Walk in the Gardens
For life’s more simple London has an incredible mix of green parks to visit, and while the Royal Parks are a must-see, for a more intimate adventure, I’d recommend going to one of the less well-known gardens of London.
Phoenix Garden in St Giles offers a small yet nature-filled spot to grab a coffee and converse together, you may even get to see some of the frogs lovingly cared for by the community. It is also right next to a weekly market offering food & delights to wander through afterwards.
Hampstead Hill Garden & Pergola in Hampstead is a wonderfully romantic spot with gardens and even an elevated walkway – with the chance to see bats if you go later in the evening. I would be scared to death, but it’s a stunning place to visit for a romantic jaunt in London.
If you want to head to one of the royal parks, then visit Regent’s Park and take a detour to the beautiful St John’s Lodge Gardens. While it has no sign, you can find this meditative garden located to the north of the Inner Circle. It is home to a series of compartments, with sculpture and stonework that are truly magical.

Treat Yourself to a Spa Day
Finally, I wanted to share some of the beautiful spas we have here in London, which offer a space to truly relax. Whether you want to go with a partner or friends, a Spa Day is one way to truly unwind and show love to yourself.
For an authentic spa experience, inspired by the Roman Baths of old, then you must book a day at the Aire Ancient Baths in Covent Garden. You need to join the mailing list to be notified of their upcoming Valentine’s specials, but treatments can include a Wine Bath experience that starts with a 60 minute massage, followed by a wine bath soak, which includes a soothing crano-facial massage for £450 per person, or a Himalayan Salt Ritual which includes a 90 minute body treatment comprised of 30 minute body wrap, followed by a 60 minute full body massage with hot Himalayan salt stones – both of which also include the opportunity to tour at your own pace through the Ancient Thermal Baths.
You can go all out with the indulgence of the Bulgari Spa in Knightsbridge, which offers a luxurious experience filled with treatments including the opportunity to book your own private spa suite for two, which offers side-by-side treatment beds for a 60 minute bespoke treatment, a twin steam shower, relaxation space, and an oversized hydro massage tub with a spectacular green onyx backdrop. It is pricey at £750 for 2 people, but sometimes luxury ain’t cheap.
For a truly spectacular and romantic experience, you can also book their B.BEAUTIFUL DAYCATION which includes all day access to Bulgari Spa’s colonnaded swimming pool and Workshop gymnasium, a 90-minute 111SKIN Dramatic Healing Facial, 90-minute Amala Smooth and Glow body treatment, Black Diamond Luxury Manicure and Pedicure, and a Neville Hair Salon Shampoo, cut and finish. During the day, guests will be served a fruit plate and non-alcoholic drink of their choice, and are given a special take-home luxury gift by 111SKIN for £910 per person.
For a resort-like experience, head to Cloud Twelve in Notting Hill that even offers a “Couples’ Suite” with Dolomites quartz beds. You can book body “rituals” that include Gaia Raindrop Therapy which is a healing technique using pure essential oils using aromatherapy oils and moist heat to bring total balance, harmony and body wellness mentally, physically and emotionally for £250 for a 120 minute treatment. Or go all out with a Couples’ Retreat Ultimate Package which includes Gaia Raindrop or Gaia Crystal Therapy, Complimentary use of thermal suite (steam room, sauna & salt room) and Two tapas dishes from their vegan & vegetarian menu with a glass of champagne for £555 if booked on a Monday – Thursday, or £575 if booked on a Friday – Sunday.
As you can see, there are so many ways to treat yourself and your loved ones this Valentine’s Day in London. I hope this has shared some inspiration for how to spend Valentine’s day, then let me know in the comments. Or if you have other ideas, I’d love to know about them as well.
