£1,500,000

London has a beautiful selection of property styles for a range of budgets, but what does £1.5M get you across different London neighbourhoods?

I love living and working in London. It has such a vast collection of architecture and neighbourhoods to choose from. In this article, I wanted to share with you properties across 5 different areas that you could consider if you are moving to London, with a £1.5M budget.

Beyond just the purchase price, there will be extra costs associated with buying a home in London, especially if you’re an overseas investor.

Check out my other article “5 Questions Every Foreign Buyer Should Ask” which will help you know the extra costs involved in buying in London.

Now let’s take a look at 5 beautiful properties across London that would suit your £1.5M budget.

South Kensington

One of the most prestigious areas in London is South Kensington. Think museums, art galleries, and large white stucco-fronted buildings here. It has a thriving French community, high end shops, and is moments away from Hyde Park & Kensington Gardens for green space.

South Kensington 3 Bed, 3 Bath Apartment with Communal Gardens Access on Cornwall Gardens – £1,500,000

For the full stucco-fronted experience you can buy this 3 bed, 3 bath apartment on Cornwell Gardens, South Kensington

The interiors are relatively modernised, but could also stand further upgrades.  You get plenty of space at 1,489 SF, which equates to just over £1,000 / Sq. Ft.

It’s on the lower ground and includes a small patio accessed via the master bedroom. It also overlooks the communal gardens that residents have exclusive access to.

This property is a Leasehold with 950 years, and the opportunity to buy the Freehold should you wish to.

It’s in a great location with a short walk to Hyde Park or the Gloucester Road tube station.

Chelsea – 2 Bed, 2 Bath Ground Floor Apartment with Garden on Royal Avenue – £1,500,000

For a property that is grand on the outside while offering an open plan feel, this 2 bed 2 bath ground floor apartment on Royal Avenue in Chelsea is a great option.

In a fabulous location near Sloane Square in the heart of Chelsea, you would live on an exclusive square just off of the main shopping street Kings Road.

The flat has parquet flooring, two double bedrooms, and a large open plan kitchen/dining and living room. The two bedrooms could do with some modernising as the pine wardrobes feel a little dated, but the rest of the home is a contemporary feel.

It also has a conservatory & private garden to enjoy in the evenings no matter the weather in London!  I love that it has this large private garden which has loads of potential for improvement.

At 1,205 square feet, it equates to £1,244 / Sq. Ft.

Queens Park

For a great neighbourhood in northwest London, we’re going to highlight where I live in Queens Park.  Known for a wonderful community vibe and great high street, with easy transport into central London, Queens Park has a lot to offer.

4 Bed, 2 Bath Terraced Victorian Townhouse in Saltram Crescent – £1,500,000

This 3-storey Victorian terraced townhouse in Saltram Crescent gets you a whole house for your £1.5M budget.

At 1702 square feet, the home provides a spacious layout.  You’re kitchen and dining area are on the lower ground floor with additional living spaces on the raised ground floor along with a shower room. On the first floor are your 3 bedrooms along with a family bathroom.

Having a whole house means you also get a bit of garden space and in this case it’s been surfaced with astroturf.  At 1702 sq. ft., this equates to £881/Sq. Ft.

The home has been modernised throughout and is located on a quaint tree-lined street.

Belgravia & Knightsbridge:

If you want to live next to royalty, then Belgravia will be the perfect spot for you. Only a few moments from Buckingham Palace Gardens, Green Park, Hyde Park and the Royal Albert Hall, this prestigious area is an exclusive place to live. With properties that include terraced townhouses and mews houses, as well as grand luxury period homes, you’ll definitely feel like a royal when you live here.

Battersea:

If you want to live within a thriving youthful community that has recently had massive investment in developments and regeneration, then Battersea offers just what you need. The area has had several luxury developments complete in the past year, which means you can walk straight into a modern, luxury apartment if you choose to live here.

2 Bed, 2 Bath – 8th floor Prospect Place, Battersea Power Station
